BOAS GONEN, M.D., is a consultant (president of Pharmagon Inc.) on new drug development and evaluation, as well as business development in the pharmaceutical industry. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology/Metabolism, with 11 years experience in academic medicine (last academic position: Associate Professor of Medicine and acting head of the Endocrine division at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia), and 15 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry (including senior R&D positions at Wyeth for 10 years and Teva Pharmaceuticals for 2 years). He has directed all stages of clinical development (mostly in areas of Diabetes, Obesity, Bone disease, Neurology and Cardiovascular/Lipid disorders), and reviewed hundreds of products and companies (for licensing, M&A and investment activities). Most recently, he co-founded two start-ups in the field of diabetes and nutrition.
