Harry and Louise are back, but this time they are in favor of healthcare reform. What’s more, America’s Health Insurance Plans has issued a statement in support of their message. AHIP, of course, is an an offshoot of same health insurance industry responsible for the original Harry and Louise commercials that had helped shoot down Bill and Hillary’s attempt at universal healthcare more than a decade ago. But as we’ve already noted, this time around most reform packages provide health plans with a central role. Why wouldn’t AHIP support that? The new Harry and Louise commercial is sponsored by the American Cancer Society, American Hospital Assn., Catholic Health Assn. , Families USA and the National Federation of Independent Business.
